Pupils in Years 7 and 11 were the first to wear the new uniform, which includes a black blazer featuring the Academy’s logo.

Students will wear the blazer with a white shirt, and black trousers or skirt. Their black and white striped tie includes a stripe in the colour of the student’s learning community – green stripes for students in the King learning community, yellow for the Pankhurst learning community and blue for members of the Madiba learning community.

The rest of the Academy’s students will return to school for the new term tomorrow, wearing the new uniform.

Shayna Bennington, a former pupil at Elm Road Primary School in Wisbech, was among the Year 7s starting at Thomas Clarkson.

Shayna, who will be a member of the Academy’s King learning community, said: “I was really nervous about starting school but everyone has been very friendly. I like the uniform.”
