A foal was rescued from a river bank in Rings End this morning.

At 7.35am, one crew from March, one crew from and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe were called to the river bank behind March Road, in Rings End.

Specially trained animal rescue firefighters wearing in-water suits used specialist techniques and a rescue sled to rescue the foal, which was left in the care of a vet.

Crews returned to their stations by 9.30am.
