A Wisbech woman who started blogging in January 2009 “to keep track of all my college projects” has won a major award for her efforts.

With over 1,000 blogs nominated and 16,000 public votes cast Natasha Nuttall has won the inaugural Young Individual Person award at the National UK Blog Awards for her blog, Graphique Fantastique.

Natasha overcame “outstanding” competition to win the award, with judges highlighting her delightful design and raw talent.

The awards ceremony took place on Friday at the ‘blogging Oscars” in London.

Awards founder Gemma Pears said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank all the nominees for their entries and congratulate Natasha on winning the Young Individual Person award. “With the exceptional level of entries we received it was a great achievement to get shortlisted, let alone win the category.

“We hope that winning the award will provide Natasha a platform on which to continue to build a successful career in the world of digital media.

““We have been overwhelmed by the response to the awards, especially with it being our first year. This just helps to show the growing importance of bloggers in the media landscape and we can’t wait to launch the 2015 awards.”

Natasha is a graphic design graduate with a BA (Hons) from the University of Lincoln but began studying at the College of West Anglia.

Her work has been published in a book – Packaging Structures- and says graphic design is a passion: “I eat, sleep and breathe it” she says. “I’m really looking forward to doing something that I love for the rest of my life.”

He blog is called Graphique Fantastique which “might be hard to say and spell but it has stuck and I love the fact that people have googled it. It makes me smile, a lot.”
