A HARVEST fair at Wisbech Grammar School raised £1,554 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Students at the North Brink school set up a range of lunchtime stalls with money-spinning activities including a bungee run, handball and football shooting and a variety of cake and refreshment stalls.
A giant display of fruit and vegetables supplied by senior and preparatory school students was put on at the harvest assembly afterwards, with the produce later distributed to homeless people in Wisbech by senior school pupils.
Charities co-ordinator Jan Wildman said: “We are very pleased to have raised such an excellent total towards this year’s target of £5,000, which will enable us to sponsor a guide dog puppy.
“The children had done very well and had come up with lots of imaginative ideas and worked very hard to make their stalls a success.”
