Drivers are being warned of an abnormal load that will be passing through Cambridgeshire on Wednesday.

A Cambs police spokesman said today: “We would like to make the public aware of an abnormal load travelling through Cambridgeshire and Norfolk on Wednesday August 20 from 9.30am.

“A test rig for a wind turbine blade measuring 44m long will be escorted by Norfolk Police from the A1 near Peterborough to a site at Stanhoe, in Norfolk.”

The planned route is as follows: A47 Cambs border – A149 – A148 – B1454 – local roads to site.

“Delays are expected,” said the spokesman.
