Cambridgeshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner is asking the public to share their experiences of calling the police non-emergency number.
Sir Graham Bright is asking members of the public who have called 101 to complete a short online questionnaire.
The results of the survey will enable the commissioner to better understand where the constabulary is performing well and where improvements need to be made.
Sir Graham said: “The importance of ease of contact with the police is something the public flag up to me regularly.
“It’s vital that we get that first contact right. Thousands of people call 101 every month and while I know that improvements have been made to the service, particularly on the initial pick up, I am aware that work remains to be done.
“Call data will only tell us so much. I rely on people telling me when they have had problems so I can work with the Chief Constable to see that any necessary improvements are made.
“I want to hear directly from people who have experienced calling 101 so I can gather a wider range of views. I am equally interested to know where it is working well.”
