Police are appealing for witnesses after a man had to be freed from his BMW following a two-car crash on the A47 between Guyhirn and Wisbech.
The man was cut free from his vehicle by the fire service and taken by air ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital with serious injuries.
Paramedics, air ambulance and police were called to the A47 near the Guyhirn roundabout at about 9pm on Monday night to reports of a collision between a silver BMW and a black Nissan Almera.
The driver of the Nissan Almera suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed until just before 11.30pm while the vehicles were recovered.
PC Matt Smart said: I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to it, to call police.
Anyone with any information should call PC Smart on 101.
