A tyre mountain has sprung up at the side of a West Norfolk road.
Over the past six months, between two to three thousand tyres have been dumped in a field off Basin Road in Outwell.
Yesterday, all the tyres were pushed up against the side of the road, creating a several metre high wall.
Concerned resident Gary Hunns said: “Over the last six months someone has been dumping tyres on a piece of wasteground.
“Yesterday, they were all pushed up to the side of the road, creating a wall. There must be 2,000 to 3,000 tyres. It’s not what you expect in a rural village.”
Mr Hunns says he and other residents are concerned about the tyre mountain, which he thinks is an arson risk.
He said: “A few people have made comments about it and my friend says he will raise the issue at the parish council meeting.
“A couple of months ago someone set fire to tyres in the field. If it’s happened before, it could happen again.”
