Officers injured as armed police taser “violent male” in domestic incident

Several police officers have been injured after responding to a domestic incident involving a “violent male” who had to be tasered.

Officers from Downham Market and the west armed response vehicle from the Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing Team were dispatched to an address in Wisbech shortly after 9pm after a 999 call came in, and a number were left with minor injuries during the arrest.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said: “We received a 999 call relating to a domestic in Wisbech at 9.10pm. Officers attended and during the arrest one male was tasered.

“He has been arrested and is currently on his way to King’s Lynn PIC.

“A number of officers have sustained minor cuts and bruises. No medical treatment is required.”
