An address in Chatteris has been raided in connection with a murder investigation.

Police have been at a house in Mayfly Close this afternoon and the road is believed to have been taped off.

One local resident said she saw a police helicopter over the area - but this has been denied by police.

The resident added that she saw forensic investigators at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “It is a search in connection with the murder investigation.”

The raid comes one day after a Chatteris man was arrested on suspicion of murdering Sam Mechelewski, 20, in Huntingdon, last Thursday.
