March Rotary Club and guests from Wisbech met at the Conservative Club, March, to witness the presidential handover.

Retiring president Peter Bennett, on behalf of his wife Brenda and himself, thanked everyone for their support over his year in office then carried out the formal installation of his replacement Godfrey Smith

Chris Bishop was installed as vice president.

Mr Smith thanked Peter for his work during his term of office and set out his ideas and aspirations for the year to come.

He wants the club to engage in projects with The Lions for the good of the community and be more active presenting the Rotary image to the public.

Several schemes and major fund raising projects are planned.

Mr Smith proposed Rotarian John Reeve, a stalwart of the club almost from its inception in 1956, is given honorary life membership.
