Police and firefighters were called to a house fire on Townshend Road, Wisbech, over the weekend.

“We were called at 1.55am yesterday (Sunday 15 October) to Townshend Road, Wisbech with reports of a house on fire,” said a police spokesman.

“It looks like the property was empty at the time. There were no reports of injuries.”

Residents were advised to avoid the area at the time, and Lynn Road and Townshend Road were closed.
