A woman says a “hit and run” driver has left her nursing a bill for hundreds of pounds after a collision near March today.
Police have joined the appeal to find anyone who witnessed the collision at the B1101 20 Foot Road junction with Elm Road, March, at 7.45am today.
A police spokesman said: “Did you witness a collision between a silver Hyundai and a green refuse truck that failed to stop?”
Pc Smart on 101 would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision, seen the lorry drive off or who knows the owner of the lorry.
The woman whose car was damaged said she was going to ring Fenland Council to ask if it was their lorry but she is convinced it wasn’t.
“It had no writing on with any company names,” she said.
“I am fine but I am left with damage to my car that I have got to pay for.”
She has posted a photo on a local community Facebook page to try and track down the lorry and its driver.
She added the caption: “This is what hit me. I am infuriated people can do this and get away.
“I know at least 15 people stopped to see if I was okay. I am looking for a man in a transit van who stopped and said he would be a witness,” she added.
