A47 between King’s Lynn and Tilney All Saints reopened following crash between lorry and car

Part of the A47 near King’s Lynn in west Norfolk has reopened following a crash between a lorry and a car.

The accident happened in thick fog at around 6am on Sunday on a single carriageway stretch of the A47 between King’s Lynn and Tilney All Saints.

A Morrison’s lorry and a car were in collision on the approaches to the roundabout where the A47 Pullover Road meets Main Road, Tilney.

The fire service said three appliances from Lynn and one from Terrington assisted the ambulance service and made the scene safe.

Highways England said this morning: “Due to the serious nature of this incident and reports of infrastructure damage, it is expected that the closure will remain in place for a number of hours throughout the morning and possibly into the afternoon.”

Drivers were advised to allow extra time for journeys and a diversion was in place.

Norfolk Police said in a Twitter post: “Collision on A47 south of Kings Lynn at Tilley All Saints- proceed with care - heavyfog.”
