Grab a chance to explore Peckover’s past and future for free as part of a popular annual heritage open day event.

Diane Smith, marketing manager at Peckover House, said: “Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the classically Georgian frontage of the National Trust’s Peckover House?

“Have you ever been curious to know about the garden, hidden from view of the road?

“On Heritage Open Day we will be opening the doors and gates to offer free access to visitors.

“There’s plenty to see - from the wonderfully scented garden, to exhibitions and displays in the elegant rooms of the house, all of which give a glimpse into the past.

“As for the future, there will be a chance to look into that too.”

Next year marks the 70th anniversary of Peckover House coming into the care of the National Trust.

A new art project will be celebrating with work by artists Sarah Evans and David Kefford of Aid and Abet.

Sarah and David will be at Peckover during the open day to talk to visitors about their project for 2018, called ‘Transitions in Time’.

Their work will be exhibited at Peckover next year thanks to funding from the Arts Council.

Heritage day is on Saturday September 9. Gardens open at 11am, the house at noon. Last entrance 4pm.
