Cannon Kirk is struggling to meet a condition to build a roundabout on the A141 prior to the building of the 50th home or within two years of starting work.

Work on the development began in July 2010.

Derek McKenzie, Cannon Kirk’s agent and former chief planning officer for Fenland District Council, said: “Due to the economy, construction has not been as quick as anticipated and the two year deadline which is approaching is unlikely to be met.

“We would like the condition to be varied by extending the period of compliance by a further two years from the expiry of the current deadline (26 April 2013), but still linked to the construction of the 50th dwelling, should this be sooner.”

Planning officers will decide shortly.
