STAFF and customers at Specsavers in March hope to have raised £500 for the Ormiston Children and Family Trust from their Halloween celebrations this week.

Children were encouraged to design a scary pair of specs at the fun day on Saturday, take part in competitions, and have their faces decorated by a professional face painter.

Staff dressed in scary costumes, and a range of home made Halloween themed cakes and chocolate apples were on sale.

Retail director Trevor Clark said: “We have been fund raising all week for this very worthwhile charity. The crew dressed up in Halloween garb, and our cake stall on Saturday was well supported, it was a really nice day.

“We were keen to raise awareness of the Ormiston Children and Family Trust, and raise some money for them.”

The Trust is the leading charity for children and young people in the East of England. The charity provides services to support children and young people from disadvantaged communities who face the very real dangers of social exclusion.
