Waterlees’ Micro Libraries project got off to a good start when it was introduced to residents attending the fun day on Saturday.

It is designed to make it easier for residents to pick up a book without having to incur charges or fines as you would at a conventional library.

County councillor Samantha Hoy, who was at the fun day to launch the scheme, said: “It is not as onerous as going to a normal library.

“Normally you have to have a library card and sometimes people get put off by that, or they think that if you bring a book back late we can’t take out other ones.

“This is more relaxed and there are lots of books for all ages to choose from.”

Micro Libraries is part of the Waterlees Word Project and is funded by Cambridgeshire County Council.
