SIXTH Form beauty students organised a ‘Pink Day’ at their college to raise funds for Breat Cancer Awareness and the Woodland Centre.

The students listened to a talk in the afternoon from Kay Billings and Beth O’Sheas mum Jo Lanham who spoke about their experiences of breast cancer and breast awareness.

The two ladies and Jo Rayner, one of the college cleaners, received treatment for the disease at the Woodland Centre in Huntingdon.

The students carried out treatments and a raffle and some male sixth-form pupils agreed to have their legs waxed, much to their obvious discomfort.

Sarah Morton, a beauty therapy teacher at the college, said she was pleased students were so passionate to give up their time for such a worthy cause,

She said: “Unfortunately nowadays cancer affects so many families so having these ladies there who had actually experienced it had so much more impact on the students.”

The college is still accepting donations and the final total raised will be revealed in due course.
