Archant

A 10-year-old girl and her aunt have raised more than £800 for charity after having their heads shaved for charity to thank the medical team which nursed a close family member into remission from cancer.

Chelsea Bowers and Gemma Weeks went under the razor of hairdresser Jayne Crowe when they lost their locks to raise money for Cancer Research.

They decided to help as a way of saying thank you for the care given to their family member, who lives in Wimblington, and was ill with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was treated with chemotherapy at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, in Huntingdon, for five months.

Chelsea, a pupil at Thomas Eaton Primary School, in Wimblington, and carer Gemma had their heads scissor-trimmed then shaved on June 28.
