Volunteers from March joined forces at Delflands Nursery to work on getting hanging baskets and planters ready for March in Bloom.

A team of volunteers from community groups, Fenland District Council officers and business energy consultancy, CUB (UK) Ltd, spent the day at Delfland Nursery planting a variety of flowers such as petunias and lobelias.

“It’s great to get extra people to help out and take time out of their days. Without their support our groups wouldn’t be able to achieve the things they do”, said Rebecca Robinett, Fenland District Council’s Street Pride Co-ordinator.

“Its little things like this that can really brighten up a town centre and hopefully the judges recognise and reward the effort local residents have put in.”

Judging takes place on July 8.

The flowers were supplied by the team at Delfland Nursery who will also maintain them until they are ready to blossom.

Anyone interested in getting involved with Street Pride should call Rebecca Robinett at FDC on 01354 654321 or email rrobinett@fenland.gov.uk
