Logan, 56, of Churchgate Street, Soham, appeared before Cambridgeshire magistrates following the accident at Longstanton on November 20 last year.

He was fined £620 and magistrates gave him eight points on his licence for driving without due care and attention.

The Bench was told Logan did not have full control of the vehicle at the time of the accident as he was “distracted” and tidying the bus at the time.

Court papers show he was driving a Volvo single Decker bus when the accident happened.

Following the incident a speed restriction was temporarily introduced as the bus blocked both tracks to the busway entrance.

The concrete-tracked £116m busway opened in 2011 and operates services between Huntingdon, St Ives and Cambridge.

The 13.3 miles of guided concrete track is thought to be the longest of its kind in the world.
