Fenland projects for young people in line for major cash injection

Four Fenland projects which help young people are set to receive a major cash boost.
Young People March (YPM), Chatteris Action for Youth, a community radio project run by Sir Harry Smith Community College and 20Twenty Productions will receive between £500 and £750 each from the Cambridgeshire High Sheriff’s Award Scheme.
The scheme, which is run by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, supports projects involving young people.
Certificates and grants will be given out to various projects at an awards ceremony on Thursday in Cottenham Village College.
Young People March has been awarded £500 to help young boys with social skills issues to increase their confidence.
Chatteris Action For Youth, a youth club opened in June last year, will get £750 to fund a youth club for 10-13 year-olds.
Sir Harry Smith Community College will spend its £500 setting up an internet community radio station.
20TwentyProductions CIC has been given £500 to put on weekly cooking, craft and drama activities for young carers and children from low income or volatile families.
