Environment Agency clamping down on anglers without fishing licences

FOUR anglers were caught fishing without a licence on Saturday.

They were given offence report forms by Environment Agency officers who braved freezing temperatures for a spot-check on illegal fishing last Saturday.

Checks were carried out on 47 anglers along Norfolk and Cambridgeshire rivers.

Lesley Robertson, Environmental Crime Team Leader, said: “Those issued with offence tickets will almost certainly end up in court.”
