Keith Finch, 63, of Ramnoth Road, Wisbech, was jailed for two years for possession with intent to supply class A drugs at Cambridge Crown Court in April last year.

Police had discovered heroin worth £3,970 at his home, together with cutting agent and more than £10,000 in cash following a warrant in July 2010.

He admitted the charge but claimed he was looking after the drugs for another man.

On Friday a confiscation order was granted for £30,000 against Finch at Cambridge Crown Court .

He has been given 12 months to pay the order or faces a further 12-month prison sentence.

Financial Investigator Malcolm Ewles said: “Finch was found to have benefitted from £30,000 through his criminal activity.

“This should send a strong message that crime does not pay and we will continue to chase money and assets made from criminal activity long after offenders have been convicted.”
