A 19-year-old man was cut from his car and taken to hospital with severe arm injuries following a collision with a lorry yesterday.
The Magpas Helimedix team (Doctor Nick Foster and volunteer Paramedic Sally Bloor) arrived near Thorney in Peterborough at 4.30pm.
They worked alongside Fire & Rescue Crews and EEAST Ambulance Crews at the scene to remove the patient safely from the vehicle.
Cambridgeshire Police were also present.
The Helimedix team administered antibiotics and pain relief then accompanied him to Peterborough City Hospital in a land ambulance, monitoring his condition all the way.
On arrival at the hospital, he was in a serious but stable condition.
The North Bank in blocked in both directions between The Dog in a Doublet and the Northey Road junction while the man was freed from his car.
