Crews battled for almost two hours to put out a combine harvester fire yesterday,

At 4.20pm, a crew from Wisbech and a crew from March were called to a combine harvester on fire in Padgetts Road, Christchurch.

A baler was well alight and firefighters used hose reels to extinguish it.

Crews returned to their stations by 6.15pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, believed to have been started through friction generating an ignition source.
