A crew battled for more than an hour to put out a burning hedge yesterday.

At about 1am, one crew from Wisbech was called to a fire on Fen Close in Wisbech.

Firefighters arrived to find a conifer hedge, measuring about 6 metres by 1 metre, well alight.

They extinguished the fire, which was caused accidentally, and returned to their station by 2.10am.
