A crew from Wisbech put out a burning bale of straw in Tydd St Giles yesterday.

At 2pm, Cambs Fire were alerted that a bale of straw about 50sqm was on fire in Cross Drove. Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to extinguish it and returned to their stations by 3.20pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
