A team of students who ran, swam and cycled the equivalent of London to Paris presented a cheque for £590 to Macmillan Cancer Support today.
Earlier this year 28 uniformed services students at the College of West Anglia’s Isle Campus clocked up 302.5 miles, the distance between Marble Arch and the Arc de Triomphe, in the special charity challenge.
Together they completed a 86.5 mile run, 22 mile swim and 194 mile cycle.
But they never stepped foot outside Wisbech, using treadmills and the pool at the Hudson Centre in a gruelling effort which took most of a day.
Student James Elsey, 17, came up with the challenge as a tribute to a family member who died from cancer, while Amy-Louise Thompson, 19, raised £222 by herself.
