An IT consultant from Elm has completed his third charity bike ride in a bid to reach a target of £12,000 for Help for Heroes.
Peter Bryant, 52, cycled 320 miles for his third Battlefield Bike Ride for Help For Heroes for whom he has now cycled more than 1000 miles.
This year we rode from Brussels to Paris with the wounded and despite rain for a day and half reached Paris on schedule.
He completed that ride with an escorted peloton around the Arc De Triomphe down the Champs Elysée to Les Invalides.
The riders then transferred to London and took part in the Hero Ride with about 1,100 cyclists through London to Horseguards Parade.
“Although I’m not injured like the blokes, I have achieved this despite a serious lower back injury from school, and damage to my neck from 5 rear-end RTA’s!
“I still have some fund raising to achieve, normally I make my target before the ride, but a couple of things haven’t worked out this year, so I’d be grateful for any publicity that might generate some support for H4H
“In the last 3 years I’ve raised about £11,500 and would like to get to £12k before the end of July before I start fundraising for next year’s ride.”
“I believe that H4H deserves our wholehearted support as our injured servicemen and women need every bit of help we can give them, they do a job I and many others simply could not do.”
