There was congestion on the A47 in King’s Lynn this morning as emergency services dealt with a car fire.

Police tweeted: “Hardwick Roundabout partially closed due to car fire. Highways on scene and assisting with clearance.”

Norfolk fire service said two appliances from Kings Lynn attended the incident. Crews wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish.

Traffic is expected to be far heavier in and around Lynn today as shoppers descend on town in search of last-minute bargains.
