Crews from Thorney, March and Long Sutton were called to the blaze at 11.20am on Saturday (August 18).

They used two hose reels to extinguish the flames and returned to their stations by 2.20pm.

“This was a fire in the hull of the boat, which was not in water,” a spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
