A man who swapped a high flying marketing job to sell organic vegetables in Ely is celebrating his first year in business.

Nick Kington swapped a marketing job and home in Reading for a new life as a self-confessed veg nerd and Riverford franchisee delivering organic produce to homes across Cambridgeshire.

“It was a pretty drastic change”, Nick said.

“The time to break free from 9-5 office and urban life felt right. It’s not always been smooth sailing but the highs far outweigh the lows. “I’m so grateful to all my customers for giving me such a warm welcome.”

Nick delivers more than 350 boxes of organic vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat and other produce, each week.

Grown on Riverford’s regional farms and by a network of local organic farmers, the company provides fairly produced food.

“I do the majority of the cooking in our house and have always valued high quality ingredients grown with nature rather than against it.

“I’m keen to help people understand how their food is produced and the impact of the different options.”
