The Easter bank holiday weekend is a great time to head out and about in Cambridgeshire.

One activity that many of us will do is head to a local pub to enjoy some good food and drinks with friends and family.

However, you may want to try somewhere new this Easter but might not be sure on where to start.

Take a look down below at our list of some of the best local pubs that you can visit and enjoy a nice, cold glass of your drink.

The Admiral Wells in Holme, Peterborough

This Peterborough spot is an independent, family run pub in Holme, which is around halfway between Peterborough and Huntingdon.

It sits right next to the Holme Fen Nature Reserve and the Holme Fen Posts.

There, you can enjoy a range of home-cooked food (including a Sunday dinner), as well as real ales and guest imported lagers.

The Prince Albert in Ely

The Prince Albert is a "back street pub" on Silver Street, which was once an officers mess.

The pub prides itself on using local ingredients in all of its dishes, as well as having real ales on offer behind the bar.

The bar area is also dog friendly, so it's perfect for a quick pit stop on a dog walk round Ely.

The Magwitch in Wisbech

The Magwitch is a relatively new addition to Wisbech, having opened its doors in 2023.

However, it's since become a firm favourite pub in the Cambridgeshire town and is definitely worth a visit.

The Magwitch serves up Sunday roasts, pizza, and much more. There's also plenty of drinks, alcoholic or not, to choose from.

The Elm in Abbots Ripton, Huntingdon

The Elm is a Huntingdon pub and restaurant in a Grade II listed building, fit with gardens and terraces to drink and dine in.

The menu at The Elm is seasonal and is made up of produce from the surrounding estate. The restaurant also prides itself on using fish from the Norfolk coast.

There is an extensive wine and whisky list at The Elm, also made up of alcohol from local suppliers.

The pub and restaurant is shut on Mondays, but this spot sounds like the place to be this Easter.

The Acre in March

The Acre is a riverside pub in the market town of March.

The pub is a "friendly, local pub" which serves up a whole host of dishes.

It's also fit with a beer garden, which is a perfect place to enjoy a nice drink with family and friends over the Easter weekend.
